Farmer’s Farm Shop is famous for its gorgeous homegrown Kentish apples.
The harvest here is a special time of year with all members of the team pulling together to deliver a great crop for the season’s trade. We grow Cox, Discovery, Worcester Permain, Jonared, Spartan and the popular newer varieties Braeburn, Fuji and Gala. Our traditional Bramley orchard dates from pre-WWII and is a beautiful sight at blossom-time.
The farm is always evolving and we have grown many different crops over the years: cabbage, cauliflower, courgettes and marrows, lettuce, runner beans, tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, plums, pumpkins and even sunflowers! Last year it was sweetcorn and maize. We are currently preparing our orchards for next year’s crops. So watch this space!
This year we will be supplying seasonal flowers cut from our very own glasshouse and bedding plants courtesy of Jenny our horticulture expert.
Not everything can come from our farm of course and we are very proud to source the best locally produced fruit and vegtables possible. Exotics and customer requests are always available and sourced fresh from the markets.
