Due to popular demand, our regular customer Marlene Harrison has kindly shared her simple recipe for cooking artichokes.
Steam the artichokes for about 15 minutes (stab them to see if they are cooked) it should be easy for the knife to go through. Then it’s time to work on a sauce. You will need 2 teaspoon of dijon mustard, 1/2 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, a pinch of pepper, salt and sugar, 1/4 cup of olive oil and then mix thoroughly until it becomes emulsified (very thick).
Then peel away each leaf gently dipping into the tasty sauce as you go. The nearer you get to the heart the nicer it gets! Just make sure to avoid the fluffy centre (hence the name).
