Spring Time on the Farm

It has been a busy month on the farm. We have seen the last of our apples taken from storage into the farmshop and watched the season start a new. Our pruning has been completed, fields cleared and orchards mowed amongst stunning plum blossom and field daisies. Our young apple orchards are doing well and our valley facing slopes have been prepared with seeds for oats and feed.

Our glasshouse has so far produced some lovely exotic tulips and early season flowers. We will soon be offering sweet peas, alstromeria, corn flower and lisianthus to name but a few which will of course be sold freshly cut through the farmshop. We have also introduced a range of new plants, potted herbs and some stunning impatiens with lovely colours for spring gardeners.

As we head towards May we are very pleased to offer some fantastic local asparagus so keep your eyes peeled as this season can be short but exciting.
A big thank you to Hugh Lowe Farm in Mereworth for providing their beautiful strawberries and raspberries which are now on sale, renowned for their great flavour and taste.
